Dalya Raphael is one of the UK’s best known voices with 30 years experience voicing everything from advertising campaigns to documentaries, audio books to the Shipping Forecast. She has also presented news and current affairs at the highest level across TV and radio.

 

Currently she is a station voice on Classic FM following a period as the station voice of Smooth Radio and an announcer on BBC Radio 4.

 

She is also busy narrating audio books for publishers including Harper Collins.

 

Dalya spent a year as a newsreader on the UK's biggest radio station BBC Radio 2 but is best known for her work at  BBC Radio 5Live.

 

Dalya joined 5Live in 2002 and spent 10 years there as a presenter of news and current affairs. This followed 10 years of national and regional TV and radio. Her unmistakeable voice and relaxed approach to interviewing made her a popular addition to the schedule with the station’s audience at its highest ever.


Dalya presented a variety of programmes including ‘Breakfast’ with Nicky Campbell and ‘Drive’ with Peter Allen. For 2 years she presented her own programme ‘The Weekend News’ with Dalya Raphael & John Pienaar.

 

She thrives on the buzz of live news and has interviewed a host of high profile personalities from Cabinet Ministers to Big Brother contestants, Oscar winners to pop stars. She is as happy talking to the public as she is interviewing the big names and has hosted phone-in's on a wide variety of subjects including world football, films and health.
She has a particular interest in entertainment and the arts.

 

In addition to her radio work, Dalya is an experienced television presenter spending 3 years as the face of BBC1’s national round up of regional news, UK TODAY.

She has also presented, written and edited bulletins for the BBC News Channel.
As a reporter she has covered some of the most significant news stories over recent years for the BBC News Channel including the Paddington Rail Crash and the Turkish Earthquake. 

 

From its launch Dalya could be seen on ITN’s Channel 5 News where she was the regular late newscaster and could be heard on ITN Radio where she hosted her own Drivetime sequence presenting rolling news on News Direct 97.3fm.

Dalya is in great demand as a voice-over artist working for brands, advertising agencies, radio & TV channels, audio book producers and corporate companies.

 

Dalya’s career began in radio where she was a newsreader and journalist for various radio groups including, Heart FM, Piccadilly Radio, Viking FM and was a founding newsreader for Reuters Radio News.

Dalya also speaks Italian and enjoys extreme sports spending some time in years gone by as a Bungee Jump instructor!
